Talking of the Uchiyama Bookstore…..
Posted: January 26th, 2015 | 2 Comments »Blogged a couple of days ago on Shanghai’s Rokusan Gardens in Hongkew (here and here). Just along from the Gardens was the famous Uchiyama Bookstore but I don’t have a picture of it….has anyone got a photograph of that famous store where Kanzo Uchiyama sold books and brought avant garde Shanghai and Japanese Shanghailanders together? See yesterday’s post for the location up at the northern end of the North Szechuan Road (Sichuan Road North nowadays) I only have images of the building as it is today….
Uchiyama with Lu Xun in Shanghai
Searched “Uchiyama shoten shanhai” in Japanese and found this website with pictures. Perhaps it is correct.

I’d like to think so but the road sign clearly says Scott Road, which is close to North Sichuan Road where the bookshop is always listed as so not sure what this place is to be honest….
