    Interesting that the US post office in the Canal Zone was considered a domestic office. But what about military post offices? Didn’t they exist in 1935?

    Given that there was a U.S. district court in Shanghai, it’s not altogether surprising that there was a post office. There are still post offices run out of embassies today.

    In Shanghai the court offices and the USPO were the same address. Indeed USPOs still exist including on Fenwick Pier in Hong Kong – it opens when a US ship is in port
