I did some translation work for a museum here in Puebla, Mexico and was pleasantly surprised by the number of Chinese objects in the collection, all thanks to Puebla being along the full route of the Nao (Manila-Acapulco-Mexico City-Puebla-Veracruz-Seville).
On a sidenote, still mildly peeved that modern Chinese uses å…ƒ for so many currencies *except* Mexico’s, when that was the basis for the å…ƒ.
ah, yes, the Dollar Mex – where would old Shanghai have been without it!!
