China and Japan map

A nice and small, but perfectly formed, map of China I came across recently in Edinburgh. It was originally prepared by John Bartholomew and Son Ltd for the Edinburgh Geographical Institute, some time around 1922 I think.

This is a very interesting map in that, among other things, contains a cartographic error in listing Chung Chwan Island near Macao as French. SanMun Island, further north, seems to be listed as firmly Italian. In fact it was merely ‘demanded’ by Italy.
