The Shingishu Railway Station and Hotel, Korea
Posted: September 17th, 2026 | No Comments »The Shingishu Railway Station and Hotel – now Sinuiju in the DPRK near the border with Dandong and the PRC on the Yalu River. The hotel, managed by the Choson Government Railway was open in October 1911 at the start of the Japanese colonial occupation of Korea. The structure was sadly completely destroyed during the Korean War. It was a brick building in the so-called Western Eclecticism (often broadly categorized as Western-style or Yōfū architecture during the Meiji and Edwardian eras).
