Illustrations of 1920s Canton by Christopher Murphy from Harry Hervey’s Where Strange Gods Call (1924).

Christopher Aristide Desbouillons Murphy Jr. (1902–1973) was a Savannah artist, etcher, and illustrator as well as the long term partner of Hervey. It is not clear that he ever visited Canton but sketched from postcards and Hervey’s photographs.
