Hutong Rooftop Micro-Gardens

One aspect of the ongoing hutong revival (finally!) in Beijing that amazes me is the return of rooftop micro-gardens and trellises. They were ubiquitous pre-1949 but then were nearly eradicated but are now back with a vengeance….
